This results in a petroleum-free wood finish product that brings out beautiful colours and unique features of the wood it’s applied to. It’s suitable for all things wood in the kitchen!
A Versatile Food-Safe Wood Hemp Oil Finish
Hemp Wood Wax conditions and protects surfaces leaving them with a nourished sheen finish. This finish protects wood and gives it a soft, lustrous shine. It is suitable for salad bowls and butcher blocks and can be used as a cutting board wax, wooden spoons, and as a food-safe countertop finish. Because of its natural processing and food-safe ingredients, it is the perfect furniture finish for children’s wooden toys and cribs too.

How to use Food-Safe Hemp Wood Wax
- Apply thinly with your hand, cloth or paper towel. It may take some time to dry, depending on the temperature and humidity of your home or workshop, but the piece can be used immediately.
- When dry, buff to a light shine and ENJOY.
- Re-apply when the piece looks dry.
Mineral Oil vs. Hemp Oil
If you prefer plant-based oils for wood, then hemp oil on wood is a wonderful petrochemical-free option. Refined hemp oil is colourless like mineral oil, so it is also a great finish to bring out wood grain in a natural way. Hemp oil on wood gives a matte, natural look rather than a glossy shine.
Hemp oil is a drying oil, meaning it seeps into the wood and hardens to form a protective finish. This makes it ideal for protecting cutting boards, countertops and tabletops from water damage, scratches, stains and fading.
